Philippine outsourcing industry gets gov’t funding – Business Mirror

The Philippine government recognizes the economic potential of its business process outsourcing (BPO) industry and has allocated 62 million pesos ($1.4 million) for programs that increase their pool of trained workforce catering to BPO companies who invest in the country. Philippine President Benigno Aquino has unveiled the plan to encourage more multinational companies to put up their BPO and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) businesses to boost the country’s outsourcing industry that is expected to generate up to $13 billion of revenues by 2011.
